Often on our quests to well-being our minds will jump right into diets, workout routines, and of course the most recent weight loss trends surfing their way across the world wide web. While these strategies may provoke lifestyle changes, I want to share with you another tool that I incorporated into my routines then and even now!
Mantras. Ever heard of them?
Originating from ancient traditions and often used in practices such as yoga, I’ve found that incorporating them into my daily routines always helps me enhance my concentration, foster a greater sense of inner peace, and promote overall well-being within my soul. For me, a mantra is a powerful tool that can compliment multiple areas of my life, often maximizing them to their fullest potential!
Mental and Physical Performance
Using mantras throughout your physical routine can increase performance and focus. Whether you’re practicing yoga, going for a run, or lifting your heaviest set yet, repeating a mantra silently or out loud can center your mind and boost your endurance. i use these the most during my yoga sessions to help me stay calm and focused. Some of my favorites include:
“My anxiety does not control me. This is a safe place for my to relax!”
“I am strong and balanced!”
“I am free of worry and at peace with who I am!”
Stress Relief and Relaxation
Going beyond performance enhancement, mantras can be beneficial throughout the day to help relieve unexpected stress or anxieties. In moments of fatigue or tension, repeating a mantra like “I am calm and at peace” can sooth your mind and relieve tension, allowing yourself to enter a deeper state of tranquility during meditation or restorative exercises. Some of my most used are:
“My calmness is contagious…breathe”
“I am exactly who and where I need to be right now”
“I will respond with compassion and have compassion for myself”
Setting Intentions and Manifestation
Oh good were at the best part!!! This is my favorite!
Mantras can be used as powerful tools for setting intentions. By choosing a mantra that resonates with your goals you can reinforce mentally your commitment to your well-being; inviting positive changes into your life. Using effective mantras can provoke positive emotions and when done correctly should invoke feelings of empowerment, optimism, or belief in your abilities to achieve your goals. I love to incorporate these into my day:
“I have plenty of time and energy to do the things I need to do!”
“Money is an unlimited resource and is always flowing my way!”
“Opportunities will always come my way!”
